Examples

All of these images show some things which are used on my mask. The eyes themselves aren't part but the outline and the brows are. The crest on mine is a bit different but mine was made for a mask not to actually copy a bird. The beaks are a little different they are more curved and they end in sharp points.

Textures Scales Comparision

These two textures are pretty strange, both of them are scales but they are both different types. The first is like any normal sort of scale you might come across they are a simple curved shape ending in a sharp point and overlapping each other. The other one however is completely different. These "Scales" don't overlap, they don't lie nice and flat they stick out of the page and are funny octagonal shapes.

Textures Big Mamals Comparision

These two textures, beside the obvious differences are very similar. Though one comes from a Zebra and the other From a Cheetah both of them are a continuous pattern that are not all exactly the same. One has spots but all the spots are different sizes and they aren't lined up nice and straight, this is the same for the Zebra. This pattern is just continuous lines but they are all different sizzes and shapes and they all end at different intervals.

Texture Lines Comparision

These two pictures show part of a feather and part of some fur from an animal. You can see in the feather one that it is just a continued pattern of lines coming out from one spot in the middle. This pattern is different from the one below, the fur, as the fur one just overlaps and it's going in one straight downward direction.

Animal Masks!

Three Hints!

1.
Try and look directly at what you are drawing, don't try and draw it from a diiferent point of view.

2.
If you make a mistake don't decide that your picture is ruined and go get another piece of paper, just try and add a lot of shading or texture in that area.

3.
Don't rush your drawing then you are more likely to make mistakes so just take it slow.

Art Techniques

Some of the techniques we used in art:
1. Use the thicker end of the stick to help make thick tonal lines and use the other end for thinner more accurate lines.
2. Focus on the texture of the fur or hair to mke it look more realistic.
3. Overlapping lines create great tonal affects especially for fur.
4. Shading is important if there isn't a dense shadow in that area don't put one there.
5. Make sure you draw the picture the way you see it not from another point of view.
